We are HOME! Sorry it has taken so long for us to post. We just got our Internet hooked up. Well, we made it. After a 12 hour drive and getting pulled over by a highway patrol. (F.Y.I. -the officer let us off the hook) We made it home safe and sound on Wednesday, the 23rd at about 6:00 p.m. We were welcomed home, by our excited families to meet Brock for the first time.
Brock's new aunts, uncles & cousins could hardly wait to see him. They all gathered around to get a closer peak at him.
This is Brocks cousin Bryson, he is 10 months old. He is so excited to have a cousin his age.
This is Brock on the quilt Aunt Bethany made for him. And boy does he love it.

BROCK IS 1 WEEK OLD

Brock loves to be swaddled. He totally goes into a trance. My brother and his wife found this DVD called-"The Happiest Baby On The Block" and they swore by it. It explains soothing techniques that infants love that send them in a zone to quite them down. When my sister Erin adopted Bryson she tried it with him and it worked. So I tried it. And Brock loves it. It really works!

SAYING GOOD-BYE

Last night we took Heather & Aiden out to dinner at Famous Dave's. Boy was is delicious! We had a great time.

This is Aiden's first time eating a rib, thanks to Randy. He loved it. Aiden wasn't very happy when we took it away.

After dinner we went back to Heathers home to say good-bye to her & her family. Grandma Gossett saying her good-bye to Brock.

Rachel & Randy showing our Thanks & Love to Heather for her amazing gift she has given to us. Words can't even begin to express our love to Heather & David. They truly answered our prayers. We became parents to a beautiful little boy. This is a great strength in our lives, for them to listen to the spirit & follow the promptings of the their hearts. THANK YOU & we LOVE you both.

BROCK MEETS HIS COUSINS

Tani , Kiki, & Brock. Tani was so excited to meet his new cousin Brock. Tani & Kiki live in Tucson, Arizona where we adopted Brock.

Tani wanted to hold Brock for the longest time. He was so sweet to give him a kiss.

Tani was amazed how little Brock is. We think Tani loves Brock, & can't wait for him to grow so they can play together.

We love this picture. Tani would have held him forever but Brock had a little accident. I guess the diaper was to loose because he whizzed all over Tani.

IT'S TUMMY TIME

We tried to lay him on his tummy for the first time. He lasted less than 30 sec. We will keep trying once a day to get his neck stronger.

Trying to fall asleep.

IT'S TIME TO EAT

Brock is like a time clock. He wants to be fed every 2 to 3 hours on the dot. He is up to drinking 2 oz. What a good eater.

After eating and a diaper change he has no problem falling fast to sleep. So sweet.

WE'VE BEEN CHOSEN!!

It all started with a phone call from my older brother Jake, who lives in Tucson, Arizona. He called and mentioned that one of his former students is pregnant and is thinking about placing her baby boy up for adoption. He asked, "would you be interested"? We did not hesitate to respond, and said yes. We called Heather on the phone and spoke with her several times. She really wanted to meet us before the baby was born. So we took a trip down right before Christmas to meet her and David. We all were so nervous to meet. We decided to meet at a local restaurant in Tucson. Randy and I arrived before they did. We had no idea who to look for, we had never seen pictures of them. With every guest approaching the door, Randy and I would whisper to one another and say "is that them"? Soon they arrived, and as soon as we saw them we knew it was them. Dinner went very smoothly. It was so fun meet and to get to know one another. Heather and David invited us to there home the next day to have dinner. Heathers whole family was there. What a fun and loving family.

Our Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways. We know he had a hand in Heather and David Decision to choose us. We will ever be grateful for them both. They have been the answer to our prayers. Thank You.

Meeting Brock Kylen Mellor

Brock Kylen Mellor (Kylen was choosen by Brocks birth-mother Heather) was born on January 15, 2008 at 11:47 am, in Tucson Arizona. He weighed 8lbs 3oz 201/2 in. long. Randy and I were awakened at 6:30 am by my sister-in-law Michelle, on the phone telling us Heather was in labor. We both turned to each other and said "this is it". 1/2 hour later we were on our way to Tucson. It takes about 12 hours drive time. New Years Eve!

Happy New Year!!! This year for new years, we hung out with the family at Fat Cats. We played 3 games of bowling. Girls against boys. I never realized how good of a bowler Randy is. He was getting strikes and spares right and left. It was fun to hang out with the family. We had a blast! We are excited to see what this New Year will bring.
