Brody is 18 Months!

Where has the time gone?  We can not believe Brody is 18 months.  He is turning into one little heart throb of a boy.  His little chub is going away, not in his belly though.  haha  He is seriously the sweetest boy.  He loves to cuddle with his mama and blanket, he is a go getter, he is sensitive, he LOVES and I mean LOVES food.  He always grabs two fists full of food, and if that's not enough he will just open his mouth wide, so you can feed him.  He loves running away from you, he thinks it's a game. He loves to climb on tables and he does a little dance.  He loves to be outside.  He can say a few words like: Hot dog, hello, bye, hi, bubble, Brock, Kailee, cow (and he moos), dada, mama, shoes, book, nose, feet, sippy, more, and I am sure I missed a few. He knows where his eyes, nose, hair, mouth, and feet are.  He loves when daddy comes home.  When he hears the garage door open he books it to the door and repeats dada, dada, dada.  Randy loves it!  We couldn't have been blessed with a better boy (besides Brock of course).  We are so proud of him and his development.  We have really lucked out with two healthy boys.  I took Brody to his 18 month check-up and he blew Dr. Mumford away with his stats.  Here they are:

Weight: 30.5 lbs  98%
Height: 33.75 in  88%
Head Cir:  19 in  74%

Dr. Mumford told me he HAS to play football!  He will be a star one day, he said.  I agreed with him.  Brody we love you so much and are proud of you.  It is bitter/sweet to see you grow, but we are excited for you future.  You are one handsome little dude.  We love you!

scHoOLs oUt!

Brock finished his first year of pre-school.  He just loved it and learned so much.  It was a joy for me to take him everyday and to see how happy he was about it.  He loved to show me all of his art work, and made sure to tell me he was a good boy.  He would always come running grinning ear to ear after school was let out. Here is a look at some of the things he learned.  Enjoy.

Our trip to Alaska

For our anniversary Randy booked a crusie to Alaska.  What a beautiful place to visit.  We had such a great time with some great company.  Randy's two brothers and theirs wives came, along with his sister & his mom & dad.  It was perfect.  Sadly we left R 2 BROS home with granny goose & grandpa.  They had a wonderful time, but we sure missed them.  We had a long drive to Vancouver, Canada.  16 hours to be exact.  Randy kept bugging me and Angie on the way up to Canada.  I swear sometimes he is a 3 year old.  I told him "what ever you want to do to me, do it to yourself."  Everyone died laughing.  It was the theme of the trip.  There is so much I could write about, but I think it would take forever.  So if you would like to know something just ask.  All I will say is that Alaska is beautiful!  The pictures don't do justice.  I could seriously live there. Near the end Randy and I couldn't wait to see our boys.  Brock is really into rocks, crystals, diamonds & gold.  We found a ton that we brought home for him.  Brody got the custest outfit & a ball, that he just loves.
Cruises are the best way to travel.  I think.  Take a look at our 10 min. video.  We had a blast!
Thank you everyone for the great time!  And Thank you to granny goose and grandpa for watching the boys.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was awesome but interesting too.  Last year I found out that there is a special day for Birth Mothers.  It is the day before Mother's Day.  So it was a no brainer to call over Chanel to hang out.  I wished Mommy Heather lived closer so I could have spent the day wtth both of our amazing Birth Moms!  We missed you Heather!

I surprized Chanel with a relaxing pedicure and lunch in the park.  Being a mom takes a lot out of you.  I didn't realize it until I sat in the chair.  I don't think Chanel and I said one word to each other during the pedicure.  I guess we both needed a little R & R.  It was so good to have her by my side.

One of my favorite things is to watch our Birth Mothers with their kids.  You can see how much love they really do have for them.  It is all so fun to see what traits come from their birth mother's.

Thanks Chanel for your company.  It is always refreshing to me when you are around.
We love being one big Happy Family!

This is my mom and all my sister's, minus one, Amy.

Mother's Day was the most interesting day.  I hope I am not alone in this, but I had my Mother's Day all planned out in my head to go perfectly. Well there were a few little details I have to share.  Now my husband is so wonderful.  We go well together.   He took me shopping, got a pedicure and had a great dinner, but when I woke up Sunday morning he was on my bad list and  I don't even know why. To say the least we got into a little tiff before church.  Totally my fault and I apologized.  Church was going smoothly.  The primary sang in sacrament and It was a joy for my to watch Brock up there.  He was so proud and I was proud.  I wish Mommy Heather was there.  Sunday school comes and goes, 10 min before we are to be let out, Brock's teacher comes to get us, with Brock in her arms.  Now Brock has quite the record of getting in trouble, but this one tops it.  He hit our niece Kailee (she was visiting) in sharing time, he didn't want to get in trouble so he ran around the primary room trying to get away from the teacher.  The next thing she knows he is running outside and in the parking lot.  She finally caught him and out of breath brought her to us.  Randy and I took him in the kitchen and had a talk with him.  We decided to take him home so he could have a long time out.  Church ended and I came home.  We wanted to spend time with Randy's mom before we headed to see my mom,  That was going great.  Brock and Brody woke up from their naps and came to give grandma a hug.  Brock and Kailee headed outside to play.  I few moments later we got a knock on the front door.  It was are cute neighbor who is 15 years old.  She said I don't know how to tell you this but your kids are showing each other their private parts under the tramp.  Are you serious?  I thought.  What a day.  Brock and Kailee both went to time out yet again and we had a good talk with them about private parts.  It was time to head off to see my mom.  I grab everything I could think of that we needed.  Half way there Randy blurts out" we forgot the meat!"  Are you serious?  We turned areound to go get the meat, because we were starving.  I almost started to cry at this point.  I sat in silence.  Then my amazing husband leans over and says, sorry your day hasn't gone perfect, but look at those two boys in the back seat.  They are why we celebrate Mother's Day.  That was the best gift I recieved that day.  The reminder of these two precious boys that I have, that I can call mine. Who cares about all the other stuff.  I learned a big lesson that day.  Thanks to my husband for knowing me and being so patient.  The day looked up from then on.

We had the pleasure to watch a 100 of light saber fights.

We ended the day up at baby Mac's grave.  It's just what I needed.  All in all it was a great 2 days celebrating motherhood.  I love everyone who is apart of my life and who made it possible for me to be a mother.

Happy Mother's Day!

Water = Wet

We have been having so much fun playing in the water lately.  This sure beats staying in side doing laundry and cleaning up spilled milk.  I love watching my boys and Kailee with all the fun adventures we go on.  I heard about a splash park in Apline and had to go check it out.  The best part about splash parks is that they are FREE.  So now I found one some what close.    .

It took Brody about 20 minutes to warm up to what was going on.  Some of the fountains scared him.  He would run back and forth, back and forth not wanting the water to touch him.  It was a joy to watch.

Brock and Kailee had no problem jumping right in.

Our sweet Brock  Oh...He's so cute!

Wondering what the heck is going on...
 Hose fun

Leave it to daddy to tease the boys.  Randy would turn off the water and when they looked down in the hose, he would turn it back on.  They got hosed!  They both thought it was so funny.

Our sweet Brody.  Oh... he is so cute!
We love creating memories with these two boys.
 Family Fun!  We love it!

It's about LOVE

I found this video and just loved it so much that I had to share it. I am so grateful for the miracle of adoption. A lot of people who I talk to don't quite understand adoption. This video explains it so well. It'a all about LOVE from both sides of the spectrum.  I, and I know I can speak for Randy love our birth mother's, father's and their families.  With out them we would not have the two cutest boys in the world.  I think I have watched this video a hundred times today.  It takes me back to both of our placement days with Brock & Brody. The feeling of LOVE that was felt was indescribable.   I am so Thankful to these amazing young women who are so selfless.  They truly love their children. They make couples dreams come true of having a family.  I know my dreams came true through adoption. Thank You!

Messing Around

Our new toy and Brock is already a pro.  With in a day of having the trampoline he was doing front flips.  He also tried a back flip, landed on his neck and scared mom and dad have to death.  We hope he listens and sticks to the front flip for now.

Aunt Angie let Brody barrow this fun little ride.  He absolutley loves it.   He can only put it in reverse, so hopefully he will figure out 1st gear.  Thanks aunt Angie!

Brock is making so many funny faces lately.  I can't go a day with out laughing, having him around.

Brody cheesing it.  This little guy makes me smile too!  He is a softy.  I love my boys!  And did I say....We love the outdoors!
