Our Thanksgiving

This year we broke our tradition of staying home, pigging out to turkey, to going to Little America & well....pigging out there. We have never been there and have always wanted to go. It was amazing! EXCELLENT FOOD and such a variety. It was my side of the families year. All my siblings were there, minus Zack's family (they stayed home with their new born baby Izzy). We were also lucky enough to have Mommy Chanel come too!

After the lunch we headed to Fats Cats to burn some of the calories we just ate. Great time with the family. This Thanksgiving was awesome! Good food & great company I hope you all had a fabulous time with the blessings that matter most in life, FAMILY. I am so THANKFUL for my extended family & my little family.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our Little Dracula

We love that his fangs came in before he front teeth. We just had to blog about it. Brody also got his first little black eye. Don't ask us where it came from because we have know idea? That is the worst part about being a parent so far, not knowing where all the bumps and bruises come from. What a tough and scary little boy! Maybe Count Dracula will pay us a visit on Halloween?...

Brody Unleashed

Our sweet Brody is 10 months old today. He has accomplished so much in the last month. Here are a few things he likes and doesn't like:

Likes:

This kid loves to eat. If I let him, he would eat all day.

He loves to scream at high pitches.

Loves to crawl fast. He is on the move.
Loves to eat anything found on the floor. I find myself sweeping a lot more.

He loves his mommy. When ever I leave the room, with in moments he is right back by my side. I LOVE IT!

Dislikes:

Taking naps. It is almost a fight everyday to get him down.

Being thrown in the air. He really doesn't know what to think about it.

He doesn't like being confined, like in his bouncer. He likes to be free.

We learn new things about Brody everyday. He fits us like a glove. We could not imagine life with out him. Take a look at what has been doing.

No more binky! We took Brody's binky away at 8 months. We know that if you take it away sooner than later they forget about it more quickly. We know this because we did the same with Brock at 8 months. It was a piece of cake:)

Brody is walking! What? Yes, I know...walking! Can you believe it? He started taking his first steps at 9 months. He is determined to accomplish this fast. He gets better and better each day. Way to go Brody!

This is a new face Brody likes to pull. It's so stinkin' cute!

I haven't yet blogged about Brody's 9 month check-up. He is a big boy check it out!

Weight: 24 lbs-88%

Height: 28.5 in-43%

Head Cir.-18.5 in-85%

He maybe a football player instead of basketball. We will see...

Brody gets into everything! This is a bitter/sweet stage. His favorite our my toiletries. Brock loved them too! Why oh why? This picture may come in handy one day. haha He loves our closet with all the shoes. He pulls them down one by one until there is a big mountain of them on the floor, then he moves on to the next thing.

We love our Brody!
Keep up the good work:)

Welcome Home Corbin!

Last night we had the opportunity to go to the airport to welcome home our nephew, Corbin. He has been serving the Lord for 2 years in the Seattle, Washington mission. He had a wonderful experience and he certainly came home a man. Corbin is a great example to us, of what true happiness is. He is always smiling and happy. He will do what ever you ask him to do, with no complaining or hesitation. He loves doing the Lord's work. We are happy to have him home safe and sound.

Here he comes! With that same smile and all.

Brock was so excited about the balloons and the snickers candy bar attached to the bottom. He so badly wanted to eat the snickers. I told him it was for Corbin. A few moments later he came over and asked, "when I come home off my mission, do I get balloons with a snickers?" I said you certainly do. I got a little teary eyed knowing that one day our boys will hopefully serve missions. It's great to see that Corbin's example is teaching and helping them.

Elder Mellor (Corbin) with his awesome family.

Welcome Home Corbin!

Brock Starts Pre-School

We are proud to announce that Brock started pre-school. I found this book called the night before pre-school, so of coarse I read it to him the night before. I don't think he really understood what the book or what I was trying to prepare him up for. In the morning I woke him up and said "today is the day you go to school. Are you excited?" He said under his breath...yeah. We got up, ate breakfast, got dressed and headed off to school. I enrolled him at Candy Cane Lane. It is so close to our house, it's awesome and I heard she is the best! When we pulled up and Brock saw all the other kids, his face lit up. I hugged him, told him to have fun and that I love him, then I walked him to the door. I know it's only 2 hours twice a week, but I felt a little empty when I was walking away. This day marked a new chapter in his life and it's sad to see the previous years come and go. On the bright side, I get to spend one-on-one time with Brody, which has been so fun. When it was time to pick him up. Brody and I got into the car and headed over. When I turned down the street and saw all the kids waiting for their moms, I started to cry. I can't believe it's here already. Brock is growing up way to fast. When he saw our car he got the biggest smile. I will never forget him running up to me with that smile and hugging me so tight. I looked down and I asked him, so how was it? He said, mommy it was so fun, can I go again tomorrow? That made me one proud mama!
