Brock Showing "Carson Courage"

Some of you are probably wondering what  "Carson Courage" is.  I will tell you.  This is Carson. He is a friend of Brock's who passed away in a tragic accident. (Read about it here.)  Carson loved to ride his bike.  He learned to ride a bike right before his 3rd Birthday, never using training wheels.  Carson's parents Zach & Hilary said he had courage from the time he was a baby. Nothing could stand in his way.  So they named his courage "Carson Courage".  Carson had a big influence on Brock along with his cousin's on him wanting to ride his bike without training wheels.  Brock was bound and determined to do it, and he did.  He showed a tremendous amount of "Carson Courage".  I love this picture of Carson.  It's like he is saying "YEA.....you did it Brock!"  Way to go Brock!!!   Thank you Carson for being a great example to Brock.  He talks about you and prays for you often. You are missed very much by many.

Fun at Cornbelly's

This Mellor home loves the fall.  Not only because of the weather, but Cornbelly's opens!  This is one of Brock's favorite places, and he talks about all year.  It is a great place to go for all ages.  Click here for details. My sis-in-law works for the Lehi Fire Department and she gets a lot of good perks.  One happened to be FREE tickets to Cornbelly's for HERO day.  I could not pass it up.  THANK YOU ANGIE!

Me and my wonderful, adorable boys.

Ye-ha!  Brock enjoyed trying get the rope around the bull.  Ride'em Cowboy!.

They have these awesome pedal cars to race.  This was Brody's favorite, tantrum and all. Brock was a great brother to have Brody ride with him.

They have 2 hay rides that you can go on.  We were the only ones on this train.  We got all into it like we were on a roller coaster.  We all put are arms up on the hills.  Ha.  No hills, but our arms were up.  Even Brody got into it.

Brody having fun!

Kailee and Brock being silly on the hay ride.  We love Cornbelly's!  We can't wait to go back.

Things Like This

Trying to keep these two entertained can be tough at times.  They are typical boys who love being out side playing in the dirt.  How many times can you do that?  For us A LOT.  I thought I would change it up. So I decided to get a bucket, fill it with water and let them paint the side walk.  This is what ended up happening....

I think I will go for a dip.

Mom look!  hahahaha

I think I will eat/drink the brush.

Me too! These two boys keep me on my toes and keep my mind in the right place, to what really matters.  Quality time and having fun is what I try to do every day.  I do like having the boys look there best, but when their having fun I let that fly out the window.  I am so blessed I GET TO be home with them 6 days a week and to see them do THINGS LIKE THIS. Not a day goes by without me laughing and I thank them for that.

R LITTLE PRE-SCHOOLER

So.......EXCITED!

I got my back pack.

I am here

Walking to class.  haha

This little guy started pre-school yesterday.  He couldn't wait to see his teacher Miss. J again.  He loved his first day, but he said all the kids were mean to him.  We hope that is not true.  We are excited for him to learn and grow.  It's sad to see him go, but now once again I can have mommy/Brody time.  I think Brody and I will head over to the library for story time while Brock's in school. Have fun Brock and be good!  Love ya!

Mommy Chanel got HITCHED!

On Saturday September 1st we headed to This is the Place Heritage Park where mommy Chanel was married.    Despite the rain and wind Chanel and Chris (husband) knew how to put on a fabulous wedding & reception.  Chanel looked amazingly gorgeous.  Brock and Brody looked liked studs dressed up in their red bow ties.  It was wonderful to meet Chanel's family and friends we haven't met before. We feel so blessed to have Chanel's family and now Chris's family apart of our lives.  We are so excited for Chanel and this new chapter in her life.  She married a keeper (Chris) that we know will take good care of her. Congratulations Chanel and Chris!  We love you both.

Hinckley Family Retreat

This last weekend was awesome!  We headed up to Warm Springs in Hanna, Ut with my side of the family.  Some of you might be saying where is Hanna?  Well I found out.  It is up by Kamas.  Beautiful place to camp. We stayed in a remote place with just us.  If you rent it, you have to rent the whole place.  It was perfect for our HUGE family.  There was one main cabin, where my parents stayed, and surrounding it where 7 small cabins just enough space to fit some beds.  It was perfect.  There is a small creek you can tube down, and a pond with paddle boats and kayaks.  We had a blast.  Brock keeps saying can we go back?. I want to live there.  Between all the crafts Granny Goose had and the water activities, the kids and the adults were never bored. Here is a small clip of the fun we had.  My sister Taylor with Innovative Productions put together the video.  Great job Tay!

Sleep Talk

We had Chazz (cousin) sleep over last weekend.  Brock was in heaven and we enjoyed getting to know Chazz better.  He is a smart and hilarious boy.  We played a game in the car where we would hum a song and the others would have to guess it.  It was fun for me to hear what the boys wanted to hum, and they actually hummed so you could tell what the song was.  We drove past the Temple and Chazz wanted to sing a song.  I said ok, let's hear it.  I thought he was going to sing I love to see the Temple.  Instead he sang Kum-ba-ya.  I could not hold my laughter in at his song choice.  It was so funny.  It was cute to hear him sing the whole song.  He has a pretty good singing voice.  We learned he is a great drawer too.  I think Chazz has a few hidden talents.  Thanks for coming Chazz!  Brock Can't wait for you to sleep over again!

Brody's a big boy!  We changed his crib into a toddler bed.  He loves it!  When we can't find him, we will go to his room and there he will be lying in his bed with his favorite blanket just giggling. It's so cute.  We can tell he is so proud. The answer to everyone's question about him getting out is....YES!, he gets out. It is something you have to teach every child. I found what works best for us is when he comes out, is to take him by the hand and lead him back to his bed and only say these words "it's bed time" or "nap time".   It may take a few times a night, but they will soon stay if you are consistent.  He is doing great so far. We are excited to have another cuddle buddy join us in the mornings:)

Learning to Swim

Brock and cousin Kailee are in the same class.

Brock is fearless and loves the water.  He enjoys every minute of his swimming class. They are learning to blow bubbles, go under water, kick, and back-float.  Don't tell him I told you, but Randy has a crush on the teacher:)..... She is pretty cute..ha.  Nothin' like a little water to cool you off!

Let's have a little Mellor Madness Time.....Jeepin'!

You don't see this everyday.  Got Jeep?

We love us some family time in the Jeep.  There is nothing better but to have all 3 of my men in tight quarters with me.  This is up in AF Canyon at Forrest Lake.  Awesome trail.  Two out of three men ended up in the stinky mud.  We love jeeping with great company.  Thanks Josh, Ted & Jill!  We had a blast!
