A Time of Thanks

I love Thanksgiving. I have so much to be Thankful for and I would like to share a few of them with you.  I am Thankful for my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ and for his atoning sacrifice. I am not perfect, I have my flaws. He makes it possible for me to renew myself and become a better person.  I would be lost with out him.  I am Thankful for my little family.  They are my world. I am Thankful for my wonderful husband.  I am Thankful for all I have learned from him. I am Thankful he has stuck with me for 12 years. I am Thankful that I have the opportunity to be a mother on this earth.  I am Thankful I get to be home with my boys to teach them and see them grow.  I am Thankful for Brock telling me how pretty I am and that he hates my hair in a pony tail.  I am Thankful for Brody being so polite by saying "pease and ank you".  I am Thankful that they make me laugh everyday and that it's easy for them to forgive.  I am Thankful for adoption and for everything I have learned and continue to learn from it.  I am Thankful for our boy's birth moms and how lucky we are to have found each other.  I am Thankful for our boy's birth families and the love we have and share with them.  I am Thankful for mine and Randy's families.  They have been a great support to us, we know that we can always turn to them.  I am Thankful for my mother in law watching our boys on Wednesday's so Randy and I can go to work.  I am Thankful for Randy's job and how great of a company they are to work for.  We have been blessed in many ways because of them. I am Thankful for my talent in doing hair.  I have the best clients that I can depend on. I am Thankful for our beautiful home my talented husband built. I am Thankful for food.  I love to eat!  I am Thankful for all the little things, the rain, the snow,  flowers, mountains, clean sheets with shaved legs:), our cars, Monday night ice-cream, the morning snuggles with my boys, the love and laughter we share as a family, our boys faces/smiles when daddy comes home, the excitement for the holiday's, watching Brock in the primary program, reading to our boys.  The list could go on and on.  This Thanksgiving please take a moment and list what you are Thankful for.  We all have so much to be Thankful for.  We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Our Trip to Arizona

This last weekend we ventured down to Arizona for 3 reasons.  To meet Grandma Marge, to see Mommy Heather, and to attend a baby blessing of a good friend.  It was an unforgettable trip.  Lots of love and laughter.  Here are a few moments of our trip.

We had the great opportunity to meet Daddy David's Grandma Marge. That would make her a great Grandma to Brock.  We had an amazing visit with her and Aunt Haley.  I have been pen pals with Grandma Marge for 4 years, so it was pretty awesome for me to meet her and Hayley.  She spoils Brock to death.  Sending cards, money, gifts.  She is so thoughtful to do what she does.  It means a lot to us and I know it will mean a lot to Brock when he can truly understands adoption. Thank you Grandma and Hayley for the wonderful visit.  We loved it!

Dinner with the Gossett Family.  It was good to see yo guys.  Thank you for the visit.

Our child hood friend Ryan also lives in Arizona, so we were able to visit with him and his cute kids.  Ryan and Brooke took us to the Zoo.  The kids loved it!

Brock always has something in his mouth.  haha

Brody cheesin' it!

I love this picture! Randy and his best friend Ryan.  Thank you Ryan and Brooke for the fun visit.  Randy is still mad about Monopoly. haha

TrIcK or TrEaT

In past Halloween's we would venture to my brother's house for the trick or treating. Now that our boys are older they,( or should I say we)  want to be home.  So at home we stayed.  As you can see Brock was SUPERMAN and Brody a TIGER grrr.  They were excited for it to get dark, so they could GET CANDY.  I stayed back to pass out candy while Randy took the boys out.  Brock was done at like the 10th house.  Funny I know.  Little Brody caught on to the process of trick or treating.  Randy said he would grab fist fulls of candy at each house.  He came back with a ginormous loot of candy.  It was a fun night with just our little family.  Happy Halloween!

GrEatEsT pLaCe oN EaRtH

We were lucky enough is head down to Moab a few weekends ago.  This is one of our favorite places to travel.  I like to call it the Mellor playground.   It is also great when you have good company to join you.

This BIG hole is called Mickey's Hot Tub.  Scary, but we made it out.

Brock loves to explore the Red Rock.

Brody found a new toy dolly, he just loved.

Taking a break.

Super Brock!!!

It is a must to visit the sand hill and race to the top

The boys were in heaven with all the sand.

Poor daddy.

Brock Showing "Carson Courage"

Some of you are probably wondering what  "Carson Courage" is.  I will tell you.  This is Carson. He is a friend of Brock's who passed away in a tragic accident. (Read about it here.)  Carson loved to ride his bike.  He learned to ride a bike right before his 3rd Birthday, never using training wheels.  Carson's parents Zach & Hilary said he had courage from the time he was a baby. Nothing could stand in his way.  So they named his courage "Carson Courage".  Carson had a big influence on Brock along with his cousin's on him wanting to ride his bike without training wheels.  Brock was bound and determined to do it, and he did.  He showed a tremendous amount of "Carson Courage".  I love this picture of Carson.  It's like he is saying "YEA.....you did it Brock!"  Way to go Brock!!!   Thank you Carson for being a great example to Brock.  He talks about you and prays for you often. You are missed very much by many.

Fun at Cornbelly's

This Mellor home loves the fall.  Not only because of the weather, but Cornbelly's opens!  This is one of Brock's favorite places, and he talks about all year.  It is a great place to go for all ages.  Click here for details. My sis-in-law works for the Lehi Fire Department and she gets a lot of good perks.  One happened to be FREE tickets to Cornbelly's for HERO day.  I could not pass it up.  THANK YOU ANGIE!

Me and my wonderful, adorable boys.

Ye-ha!  Brock enjoyed trying get the rope around the bull.  Ride'em Cowboy!.

They have these awesome pedal cars to race.  This was Brody's favorite, tantrum and all. Brock was a great brother to have Brody ride with him.

They have 2 hay rides that you can go on.  We were the only ones on this train.  We got all into it like we were on a roller coaster.  We all put are arms up on the hills.  Ha.  No hills, but our arms were up.  Even Brody got into it.

Brody having fun!

Kailee and Brock being silly on the hay ride.  We love Cornbelly's!  We can't wait to go back.

Things Like This

Trying to keep these two entertained can be tough at times.  They are typical boys who love being out side playing in the dirt.  How many times can you do that?  For us A LOT.  I thought I would change it up. So I decided to get a bucket, fill it with water and let them paint the side walk.  This is what ended up happening....

I think I will go for a dip.

Mom look!  hahahaha

I think I will eat/drink the brush.

Me too! These two boys keep me on my toes and keep my mind in the right place, to what really matters.  Quality time and having fun is what I try to do every day.  I do like having the boys look there best, but when their having fun I let that fly out the window.  I am so blessed I GET TO be home with them 6 days a week and to see them do THINGS LIKE THIS. Not a day goes by without me laughing and I thank them for that.
